Johanna will give an update in general regarding bioeconomy at large but also diving into the biorefinery area and its research field. Many sectors are now focusing on the use of biobased feedstock and many new markets are developing. At RISE current focus lies on resource efficient solutions in order to secure a competitive bioeconomy going forward.
Jérémie Geelen, Market Intelligence Director, Bioenergy Europe
Jérémie will focus his presentation on what is happening between policy and practice – and how EU rules are shaping bioenergy markets. Focus will be on both an overview of EU regulations as well as technical and bioenergy market orientation, such as the ecodesign update that would have a strong influence on the local space heaters industry, or the ongoing LULUCF debate and its potential impact on forest management and consequently on the supply of wood for energy purposes.
