In today’s energy landscape, one of the most critical aspects is deploying renewable energy technologies at scale and pace to match the demands of the various decarbonization pathways around the world. Bioenergy which will play a crucial role in the future energy mix, is predominantly a local source. However, with rising demand for clean fuels, bioenergy commodities are being traded internationally via a variety of routes including road, rail, and maritime. Such trade provides various challenges, and innovation is critical along the entire biomass supply chain. To highlight the challenges and showcase innovations, the WBA is organizing a webinar “Optimizing Industrial Supply Chains: Building bioenergy trade” which will explore the key components involved in this process at a large scale. Organized by the World Bioenergy Association in collaboration with Bioenergy International, this session will delve into the various stages of the bioenergy value chain including feedstock sourcing, transport logistics, and processing. Additionally, the session will address the economic and environmental benefits of integrating bioenergy into industrial supply chains, showcasing case studies of successful implementations.
