Study visit: Alingsås Laundry that was converted from oil to pellets
We are happy to announce that the Nordic Pellets Conference 2023 will be held on 1-2 February in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The conference starts with a study visits. If you instead only wish to participate in the conference, it starts after the study visit. More information about times will come closer to the conference.
Study visit
Alingsås Laundry converted a steam boiler from oil till pellets in 2013. The new wood powder burner from PetroBio has a capacity of 6 MW. A new system was built to receive, store and grind pellets into powder, including a dosage system to the burner. To comply with the demands on emissions the plant was equipped with a flue gas filter. At the time the payback period for the investment was less than four years.
The plant is owned by the Region Västra Götaland and is cleaning the laundry from all the hospitals in the Region Västra Götaland and also the Region Värmland. The goal with the investment was to reach the target to be fossil free 2020 and to reduce costs.

Note: Previously, we also announced a study visit to Gothenburg Energi. Due to building and delivery delays Gothenburg Energi has not been able to take over the plant from the supplier as scheduled. During the current circumstances and for safety reasons we have to cancel the study tour to Göteborg Energi.
