Less than one week to go for the Advanced Biofuels Conference online

We are organising the 6th Advanced Biofuels Conference (ABC) that will take place as an online event on 16 September 2020. Participation is via digital link starting at 13.00 CEST (GMT +0200).

Advanced biofuels are more than ever key to reducing emissions in many national transport sectors. With the recast Renewable Energy Directive (RED II), the European Union (EU) has decided on levels for advanced biofuels while putting a cap on feedstocks such as edible oilseeds and grains. All this changes the conditions and context for future investments.

What implications does this have for major biorefinery projects – ECB Group Paraguay’s 20 000 barrel per day Omega Green project in Villeta, the largest greenfield renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) biorefinery in the southern hemisphere? What opportunities are there for other emerging purpose-grown feedstocks such as Brassica carinata?

Listen in to the experts and pop the question

Erasmo Carlos Battistella, CEO, ECB Group, Brazil will discuss the Omega Green Advanced Biofuels plant scheduled to begin construction in Paraguay during 2020. Then there is Panu Routasalo, VP of UPM Biofuels. UPM have advanced plans for a new 500 000 tonne-per-annum biorefinery in Kokta, Finland that in part, will use carinata.
