A warm welcome to Svebio’s Major Bioenergy and Heat Conference on November 19–20!
(Please note that the conference is held in Swedish)
This year, the conference will be held in the fantastic city of Växjö – “Europe’s greenest city.” The focus will be on the challenges and opportunities facing the bioenergy and heat sector, and on the factors that are likely to influence the sector most in the future. What does future electricity demand look like? Are changes to the electricity market zones on the horizon? What impact will changes in electricity tax or ancillary service markets have? What is the future of heat demand?
The conference will take place at Växjö Concert Hall. The day will begin at 8:30 AM on November 19 with two optional study visits hosted by our members Växjö Energi and Södra. The main conference will start after lunch. On November 20, the conference will end at 3:00 PM.

Study Visits
The conference days will begin with study visits, where participants can choose to visit either Växjö Energi or Södra. This will be followed by a revitalizing lunch at Växjö Concert Hall, after which the conference officially begins.
Buses will depart at 08:30 AM on the morning of November 19 from outside Växjö Concert Hall.

1. Study Visit to Växjö Energi
Växjö Energi invites you to an inspiring morning where you’ll gain insight into how they work to increase revenue through production optimization. They will also share their fuel supply strategy and their perspective on the customer’s role in Växjö’s energy system.
As part of the visit, you’ll join a guided tour of Växjö Energi’s combined heat and power (CHP) plant. You’ll get to see the fuel yard, the boiler, and the turbine – and learn more about how we can build a sustainable energy system for the future, together.
Note: A valid ID is required to participate in this visit.
2. Study Visit to Södra
Join Södra for a trip into the forest – where a single tree can grow into a thousand possibilities. During this study visit, Södra will take you into the woods to explore everything the forest has to offer.
You’ll gain insight into how forests contribute to a sustainable future by balancing four key areas: replacing fossil-based materials, supporting rural development, acting as a carbon sink, and improving biodiversity. It will be an inspiring morning showcasing how the forest’s resources can help build a more sustainable future.
