Take part in our green study tour 31 March!
The tour includes visits to biodiesel production, biomass terminal, and bioCHP with old town Porvoo as cultural bonus. Registration is mandatory!
Porvoo is one of Finland’s oldest cities, situated east of Helsinki. It is also the location of Neste Biorefinery, world leading producer of renewable HVO diesel.
The district heating grid in Porvoo is supplied by renewable energy sources to almost 100%. Porvoon Energia’s new boiler for biomass was started in 2013. The fuel is locally sourced wood chips.
We will see fuel handling at Hakevuori wood terminal 15 km from Porvoo. Hakevuori has 7 mobile wood chippers for roadside use and one unit for chipping at terminals.
Lunch is followed by a guided tour in old town Porvoo with its medieval cathedral. We will be back at Vantaa Airport 4 pm and city center at 4.30 pm.
