In the last few years in Poland, there has been an increasing interest in thermal technologies for processing biomass, biodegradable waste or sewage sludge to biocarbon as well as potential applications of biochar in power industry, industry, agriculture, environmental protection, construction, pharmaceutical and even textile. In the world and in the European Union countries one can speak about the developing biocarbon industry. The Polish market is also beginning to see the potential of this raw material. Organized on 28 May 2018, the conference “Biochar in Poland – science, technology, business” for the third time is devoted to the thermal transformation of biomass to biochar. This year’s edition, as in previous years, will summarize global and national achievements in the field of biochar – the results of the latest research, technological novelties, legal and quality requirements for placing the market on the market, possible applications of biochar and its potential in waste management. This year, the Conference program will focus in a special way on the role of biochar in a circular economy, based on a cycle of processing and repeated use of products.
