Welcome to the Swedish Bioenergy Association’s Annual General Meeting and Spring Conference!
Members of Svebio are warmly invited to attend the Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Thursday, 16 April, from 09:00 to 10:30 (registration from 08:30) at IVA – the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, Grev Turegatan 16, Stockholm.
The formal notice of the AGM will be distributed in accordance with the statutes.
Svebio Spring Conference 2026 – The Choices Facing Bioenergy
Immediately following Svebio’s Annual General Meeting, the doors will open for the Svebio Spring Conference, running from 11:00 to 17:15.
2026 is an election year, and bioenergy finds itself at the centre of a heated and at times polarised debate on energy and climate policy. At the same time, bioenergy is Sweden’s largest energy source, both in terms of production and use. It constitutes a cornerstone of the Swedish energy system and national preparedness.
Under the theme “The Choices Facing Bioenergy”, we will discuss the strategic decisions now confronting the industry, policymakers and society at large. How should bioenergy contribute to security of supply, competitiveness and climate benefits—and what priorities are required in a time of increasing sustainability demands, new EU regulations, limited resources and intensified political debate?
The day brings together politicians, public authorities, researchers and industry representatives. You will hear engaging discussions on the role of bioenergy in the energy system, the use of forests and biomass, biofuels, EU policy, regulatory instruments, public acceptance and future investment willingness.
The conference concludes with a joint networking reception lasting until 18:00.
Throughout the day, there will be ample opportunities for networking and in-depth discussions.
