Nordic Pellets Conference 2026 – meet some of the speakers!

On 3–4 February 2026, the bioenergy industry will gather in Gothenburg, Sweden, as Svensk Bioenergi, The Swedish Pellet Association, and Bioenergi magazine host the Nordic Pellets Conference 2026 at the Elite Park Avenue Hotel.

The conference offers both strategic perspectives and practical experience – and we are pleased to present two of the speakers:

Alicia Newton, Senior Scientific Officer, Drax
Alicia provides a science-based perspective on how large-scale bioenergy can contribute to both renewable power generation and long-term climate mitigation. In her presentation, she highlights the entire value chain – from sustainable biomass sourcing and life-cycle analysis to the potential for negative emissions through BECCS – and what this means for the role of bioenergy in a future net-zero energy system.

Marcus Bergsjö, Partner, Green Pellets
Marcus shares practical production and operational experience in his presentation “When a more expensive binder becomes cheaper in operation – Glufoss in practice”. The focus is on how thermally modified starch affects pellet quality, press stability, and day-to-day operations – and how the right choice of binder can reduce total operating costs.

👉 Two perspectives – strategic and operational – together reflecting the development and future of pellets and bioenergy.
