History

The Swedish Bioenergy Association (Svebio) was founded in 1980, after the oil crisis in 1979. At that time bioenergy accounted for 10 % of the energy supply in Sweden. Bioenergy was not yet commercial and a major part of the bioenergy was used internally in the wood industry.

Membership Fees

The membership fee is 550 SEK/year for members up to 1 million SEK in turnover and 1,100 SEK/year for members with a turnover higher than 1 million SEK. In addition, The service fee is tax-deductible, and is also paid per year. The fee is based on bioenergy related turnover.

Svebio Members

Already 300 companies in the bioenergy sector are members of Svebio, and on top of that some one hundered private persons, consultants, researchers, energy advisors etc. Svebio is a well established organisation working to provide the bioenergy business with good conditions and development possibilities in Sweden and internationally.
